We wanted to create a warm and welcoming space, a treasure trove of Stroud’s finest creatives and a playful and elevated addition to the high street. A permanent space where a selection of artists & makers can show and sell their work, hold events, and have a physical place to connect with customers. Union street is a space to discover a tapestry of beautiful, locally handmade and mostly one-of-a -kind objects.

We feel strongly that the beauty of the handmade is in its tactility and detail. Our aim is to make art accessible and relatable, and to celebrate the imperfect beauty of slow handmade crafts.

As a collective of 9 we are able to share the responsibility of opening a shop, with shared rent and low commission allowing for artists to keep 90% of their sales (rather than the traditional 50% in most art galleries and boutiques).
